Complexions Contemporary Ballet Pre-Professional Program is a 3 week rigorous and intense TRAINING PROGRAM that provides hands on guidance, and mentorship to advanced level dancers in preparation for a performing career in dance. Complexions Contemporary Ballet Pre-Professional Program is an immersive experience that will focus on Technical Efficiency, Artistic Expression, and Performance. Students will take technique class in both Classical and Contemporary ballet techniques, learn repertory, and participate in a creative process. Classes will be taught by Desmond Richardson, Dwight Rhoden, current and former company members, and renowned guest faculty. With no more than 30 students, each participant gets direct personal feedback from teachers.

The Pre-Professional Program is intended for students with an advanced or pre-professional understanding of classical ballet technique with 6+ years of training. Students will train in the official technique of Complexions - 'NIQUE. In addition to working on strength, stability, and overall placement, students will broaden their understanding of the relationship between the upper and lower body. Teachers will work closely with students to understand counter-balance and how to initiate the transfer of weight originating from the spine. This allows students to understand how to transition from one step to another allowing for a fuller range of movement. The goal is for our students to focus on versatility and range of dynamics - with a keen awareness of the fullness in physicality necessary to convey impactful dancing.
