Beginning June 8, we are thrilled to offer the first ever weekly Virtual Intensive Program taught by Desmond Richardson, Dwight Rhoden, current company members, and renowned guest faculty. Similar to our in-person Intensive, our Virtual Intensive will focus on the Total Body approach to training that fuses Classical and Contemporary dance methods that we call ’NIQUE. Each of the five days will start with ’NIQUE or Contemporary Ballet Class that emphasizes coordination, physical ignition, precision, efficiency, and clarity of form. Class will be followed by Repertory or Movement Creation with Dwight Rhoden or Desmond Richardson. Each week will focus on a different piece from the company's repertory.
As an optional extra add-on, students will have an opportunity to take two Contemporary Pointe focused workshops, where Rhoden and Richardson will create new movement, explore the use of the Pointe shoe in a Contemporary context, and work on articulation and efficiency in the Contemporary Ballet style that has been the lynchpin in the Complexions repertory.
We are excited to connect and evolve together while ensuring the safety of the dancers across the US and the World!
