DETROIT PRE-PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM

DIRECTOR: MEG PAUL

Complexions Contemporary Ballet's Pre-Professional Program is rigorous and immersive experience that provides guidance and mentorship to dancers preparing for a performing career in dance.

The program is intended for students with an advanced or pre-professional understanding of classical ballet technique. Students train in NIQUE - the official training method of Complexions Contemporary Ballet, developed by Complexions co-founder/co-artistic directors Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson.

NIQUE utilizes sound anatomical principles and cutting edge choreography to propel student growth, ignite creative artistry while unlocking the body's expressive potential, and aims to reflect the movement of our world - and all its constituent cultures - as an interrelated whole.

This immersive training experience, limited to 30 dancers, will focus on Technical Efficiency, Artistic Expression, and Performance. Students will take class in NIQUE, learn Complexions repertory, and participate in a creative process that culminates in a live performance sharing the stage with Complexions Contemporary Ballet in its performance at the Music Hall in Detroit.

Complexions Contemporary Ballet embodies its historical moment as a sanctuary where those passionate about dance can celebrate its past while simultaneously building its future.

The mission of Complexions is to become a more fluid, more changeable and more culturally interconnected world than ever before.
